Visiting a spa for the first time? You’re not alone.
Many of our guests at The Cairndale Spa in Dumfries are enjoying their very first spa experience, and we understand it can feel a little unfamiliar. What should you wear? Do you need to be quiet? What happens during a treatment?
The good news is that there’s nothing to worry about. Our team will guide you every step of the way, so you can simply relax and enjoy the experience.
Before You Arrive
Book Treatments Early
Our most popular treatments can book up quickly, especially weekends and holidays, so we recommend reserving treatments in advance.
If you have any medical conditions, allergies or are pregnant, let us know when booking so we can tailor your experience.
Arrive 15 Minutes Early
Arriving a little early gives you time to change into your robe, complete your consultation and begin unwinding before your treatments start.
What Should I Wear?
We provide everything you need:
- Robe
- Slippers
- Towels
Swimwear is worn in the thermal spa facilities, while your therapist will explain exactly what to do before your treatment.
During Your Treatment
Before your treatment begins, your therapist will discuss:
- Areas you’d like them to focus on
- Massage pressure
- Any injuries or concerns
Don’t be afraid to speak up during your treatment if you’d like anything adjusted. We want your experience to be as comfortable as possible.
And yes – falling asleep during a massage is perfectly normal!
Relax – We’ve Got Everything Covered
Whether you’re visiting for a spa day, spa break or your very first massage, our friendly team will make sure you feel welcome from the moment you arrive.
Many guests tell us they were nervous before their first visit – and can’t wait to come back afterwards.
