Supervisory and Management Positions

Kitchen Assistant

We currently have a vacancy for a Kitchen Assistant to help us to maintain the high standard of cleanliness of the kitchen area of our busy hotel. Cairndale Hotel& Leisure Club is a family owned, one of the South West Scotland’s leading hotels and offers 91 suites and bedrooms as well as extensive function facilities and a private leisure club. The hotel has Reivers Restaurant which seats up to 100 covers and we also offer banqueting for up to 250 with further smaller dining rooms available.

Requirements for the role:

  • Maintaining the cleanliness of the kitchen, scullery work, basic food preparation and service;

  • Operating pot-washing machinery, sweeping and mopping floors and disposing of kitchen waste;

  • Working in accordance with the Food Safety Act, health and safety regulations;
  • Strong team player skills and an excellent eye for detail coupled with a desire to exceed customer expectations.

Experience is preferred although not essential, as training would be given, although a keen interest in hospitality and food production is vital. Also, this is a role which will require flexible working hours depending on the business needs.

Business Development Manager

A dynamic and forward thinking person would suit this position with experience in sales and marketing, preferably in the Hospitality Industry. The role involves selling the Hotel to the local market and driving marketing opportunities for the Hotel.

Food and Beverage Manager

A very senior role in the Hotel, the Food and Beverage Manager oversees the entire food and beverage operation ensuring all areas of the business run smoothly and profitably. This role would suit someone with 2 to 3 years experience in a similar position or in a Restaurant Management Position.

Restaurant Supervisor

We are looking to recruit a Restaurant Supervisor to assist in the running of Reivers Restaurant, the main Restaurant in the Hotel. You must have good experience of Restaurants and food operations and a proven track record of leading a team, training experience would also be beneficial.

Our receptionists are at the forefront of the Hotel being the first and last person the customer sees in their experience of the Hotel. To become a Receptionist you must be friendly, personable, good with computers and well organised. Reception is managed on shifts of 7am until 3.30pm and 3pm until 11.30pm. There are many opportunities for progression from Reception staff.

Night Porter

A responsible position to work through the night, usually on your own but on busy nights with another night porter. The role involves setting up conference rooms, security checks, operating the bar, reception along with other duties preparing the Hotel for the following day.

Room Attendants/Cleaners

Ensuring our bedrooms are clean is an important job in the Hotel. Working on your own and as part of a team, the duties include cleaning bedrooms and corridors to the highest standard and ensuring public areas are clean and tidy at all times.

Waiting Staff

At the Cairndale Hotel we operate a number of different dining experiences including our Reivers Restaurant, Park House Ballroom as well as the Forum Café Bar. Waiting staff must be personable and well presented and be able to deliver good service with a smile. This role involves early mornings and later evenings and although not suited to everyone, is a fantastic & rewarding job that can lead to a future career in the Hospitality Industry.

Bar Staff

Working on one of our 4 bars, we are looking for staff on a part time or casual basis to serve customers, clean glasses and maintain a clean and safe environment. Good customer skills are a must as is a strong work ethic. Must be able to work in the evenings.
