We are currently looking to strengthen our maintenance team in the hotel and looking for someone with good all round experience who can turn their hand to a number of skills including painting, joinery, tiling, gardening etc.

Our maintenance department are responsible for keeping all plant and equipment in running order and as well as routine maintenance they are involved in the ongoing refurbishment of the hotel.

Provide support to financial controller and hotel management team.

Key duties: purchase ledger, sales ledger, leisure club membership reconciliation. Assist with revenue reconciliation and stock systems.

Account office experience and knowledge of Sage 50 would be beneficial.

Rate of pay depends on experience.

Head Housekeeper (Full time)

This is a challenging position that offers someone with good leadership skills the opportunity to take our housekeeping department forward. Previous experience in a similar sized hotel would be advantageous.

Front Desk Agent (Full time)

We require a self-motivated individual with excellent interpersonal skills for this customer facing position which involves working a mixture of early/late shifts and weekends.

Stores Position (approx. 20-25 hours)

Our stores person will assist in the purchasing, booking in of deliveries, the distribution of goods to the different departments of the hotel and assist our accounts department in controlling the movement of stock and providing monthly stocktakes.

Maintenance (Approx. 25-30 hours)

We are looking to recruit an all-round trade’s person who has a number of years’ experience in building maintenance to join our growing maintenance team in the hotel. The position might suit someone looking to reduce hours from full time to approx. 25-30 hours per week. Rate of pay will depend on skills set and experience.

General Assistants (Food & beverage + Front of House)

We are looking for two general assistants to join us in the hotel. The ideal candidates should already have some good hotel/hospitality experience and have the drive to succeed in a challenging environment where customer satisfaction is our highest priority. We hope that in time that our General Assistants will become our Departmental supervisors/managers of the future and during your time in the hotel you’ll work closely with our Duty Managers gaining experience in many hotel departments.

Sales/Events Coordinator

A dynamic individual is sought to join our busy Sales department where the successful candidate will be required to assist with hotel reservations, conference, group and function/wedding enquiries.Previous hospitality experience together with a minimum 2 years operational experience will be required.

Housekeepers/Room Cleaners (Hours negotiable)

We are looking to fill a number of seasonal positions in the hotel over the coming season as we look to welcome an increasing number of Staycations, We also have a requirement for a number of candidates to join our bank of cleaners who will be able to work on a flexible basis subject business levels.

Hall Porter Casual (Limited hours 4pm to 6pm midweek)

As the hotel gets busier we’re looking for an enthusiastic individual who will be required to meet and greet guests and assist with safe luggage management. Assist Front Office/Reception Team in ensuring a smooth check-in and help in any other hotel department as necessary. Additional hours may be available in the evenings or weekends working in the hotel’s restaurant, Housekeeping department or Leisure Club.

Bars Manager

Following on from the success of The Secret Garden we are now looking to recruit a Bars Manager who has experience of working in a busy bar environment. As well as overseeing the operation of all bars in the hotel the successful candidate should be able to produce design and promote speciality cocktails and have the necessary experience to look at introducing a more extensive food offering in our bars and particularly in The Secret Garden.

Part Time/Casual Bar & Banqueting Staff (Evenings/Weekends plus Full Time Summer)

As we look to the season ahead we need to increase the number of staff working between Easter and the end of September as well as building a team to work busy functions over the winter months. These positions may be of particular interest to students over the summer or for students coming to study in Dumfries. Whilst hours will be subject to business demand we will be looking to recruit a number of full time students over the busy summer months. Applicants with previous hospitality experience will be considered but full training will also be given.

Golf Coordinator (Full time)

Following the upcoming retirement of our current Golf Coordinator, we are now looking for a full time golf coordinator who will be able to increase the number of golf groups visiting the hotel. The ideal candidate should have a good knowledge of local golf courses and previous experience of club admin (paid or otherwise) would be advantageous.

Night Porter (3/4 nights per week 30-40 hours)

As well as undertaking security our night porter is responsible for late check-ins, conference room set ups, cleaning duties and attending to customer requests. Hospitality/security experience preferable.

Spa Receptionist/Leisure Attendant

The Barracuda Club in the hotel has been welcoming hotel residents and club members for over 30 years and is firmly established as one of the leading leisure clubs in the area. We are now looking to develop our leisure facilities together with our spa and strengthen our leisure club team. As well as welcoming hotel residents and members you will be required to manage out memberships and assist in our café bar where members relax and socialise. In time we would look to your development as you are encouraged to take a more active role in our gymnasium, pool and spa areas.

Spa Therapist/Beautician

We are currently looking to recruit an in house therapist to work alongside our leisure team in providing a range of spa treatments primarily for hotel residents booked on packages and in time non-residential spa days.
